Chinese anti-rationalism
From the Shoo King:
"Follow the course of the mean, and do not, by assuming to be intelligent, throw old statutes into confusion."
"Measures of government must be varied according to the manners of the time."
"Virtue has no invariable pattern -- a supreme regard to what is good will provide the necessary model."

Dr. Callahan, what exactly do you mean when you say that rationality in politics is a bogus argument? Is it only in politics that you feel this way? Again, sorry if I sound ignorant; it is because, as a beginning philosophy student, I am.

RationalISM, not rationalITY. We might term "rationalism" the "cult of rationality."

If you have more questions, feel free to ask.
Gene, I think I'm beginning to fall into the same rationalist trap that you did! Got any antidotes?
