An Easy Fix for All Crimes!

I just saw a prominent libertarian posting on Facebook: "We can easily fix the problem of illegal immigrants by abolishing borders."

Yes, and we can "fix" the problem of trespassing by abolishing property lines. And we can "fix" the problem of theft by abolishing all property rights.

  1. This was the first problem I spotted with the libertarianism. A lot of the ones I have encountered give this same type of answer to at least one problem. The "solution" to the tragedy of the commons is to privatize the commons. The "solution" to the free rider problem is to abolish taxation. The "solution" to environmental damage is to privatize the environment and let the owners decide what to do.
