Economics for magically endowed people

This is a sort of voodoo store taking up a large corner retail space on a fairly busy street in my neighborhood. As I was walking by it today, I thought, "I never see anyone in there: I wonder how they pay the rent."

Then I realized, "Doh! The owner just makes the landlord believe he's paid the rent."


  1. Shouldn't this read 'economics for magically-endowed people'? Only mention it in light of your complaint regarding the missing hyphen in 'kettle-cooked chips'.

  2. No: when the adverbial form of a word ('ly') is used as an adjective, it is not followed by a hyphen in a compound adjective.
