Storage? You Call That Storage?

As a guy who once paid $500 for a 10MB hard drive, it makes me... laugh? cry? -- I'm not sure which -- to find a 16GB iPod tossed aside on the shelf as if it were a 512KB floppy... which, of course, to Wabulon, in his programming youth, would have been an enormous data store.

  1. It's strange. Even though I'm aware of the sunk cost fallacy and anchoring effects from behavioral studies, and even though my $10 keychain flash drive holds more data, is more reliable and rugged, uses less power, reads and writes data faster than my old SCSI and IDE hard drives ever could ... I can't bear to throw the ol' clunkers out.
