Irrational Nonsense!

I had forgotten that the Grateful Dead sponsored the 1992 Lithuanian Olympic basketball team! But what I really look forward to is, as the rest of the audience sits in tears at the end of the movie, seeing what reaction Ryan Murphy gets as he catcalls "Irrational localism!"

  1. That phrase didn't ever appear on my blog. Localism is irrational if and only if nationalism is irrational. So if you think that nationalism is rational, sure, whatever.

Oooh, you sure got me there, Ryan! Because if, in this *fictional* scenario, I have the Ryan character say something you never said... Oh, wait, it's fiction, isn't it?

The point is, you do think localism is irrational, don't you? Then whether you said *that exact phrase* hardly matters since it is obvious this is fiction, right?

    2. It depends on what you mean by irrational. I believe it is irrational in the same sense that it is irrational to vote for tariffs out of the belief that they will lead to growth (setting aside theoretical oddities).
