Government Takes Kid Away for Drinking Hard Lemonade
This stuff is really getting ridiculous. (And by the way, I am aware that there was plenty of crazy cr*p going on with the FLDS sect, aided by local government.) This professor took his kid to a baseball game, ordered a "lemonade," and let his kid drink Mike's Hard Lemonade because he says he didn't know it was alcoholic.
A security guard saw it, and next thing you know the kid is in foster care for two days. The dad wasn't allowed to return home for a week. HT2LRC.
As always, what's truly sickening is how many of the posters at the story above support the action. I.e. this guy had it coming, letting his kid drink Hard Lemonade! Serves him right.

What is so strange is that many of the supporters of the govs actions probably consider themselves to be "conservatives," and yet allowing minors some alcohol is the custom in all traditional societies that drink alcohol, as far as I know, and the recent frenzy about this is entirely a "progressive" phenomenon. Today's "conservatives" are, in terms of their historical knowledge, children -- they also mostly don't seem to be aware that professional police forces, one of their favorite government projects, are a recent, progressive phenomenon.
ReplyDeleteYeah Gene, today's conservatives are always yesterday's progressives.

Just read the story and... AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!! They took the kid, IN AN AMBULANCE, to the hospital! Because he drank the equivalent of ONE BEER.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was growing up, it was absolutely conventional to let kids have, say, a glass of wine on holidays and so on.

ReplyDeleteMy wife lets me have Mike's because she doesn't know I'm alcoholic.
